The Pre-kindergarten bilingual program will provide children the opportunity to
explore, observe, and experiment in both Spanish and English. The learning
environment encourages a preschooler to ask questions, make conclusions, and
develop independence. Large group activities, small group activities, and center
activities will stimulate a child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
Throughout the school year the children will develop skills while learning about
themes meaningful to their lives. In our program, we continuously meet the
developmental needs of the children as they develop skills and require new
challenges throughout the year.

The Pre-kindergarten program at Mater Gardens is a bilingual program which offers
instruction in both English and Spanish. All the skills introduced in the classroom will
be given in a 50/50 model which is defined as, half the day is taught in English and
the other half in Spanish, ensuring that the students are acquiring both languages
simultaneously.
